OSU Extension Henry County is announcing the inaugural Tri-State Precision Agriculture Conference to be held on August 11, 2021. We are excited to let everyone know that there are three great speakers lined up for the morning that are going to discuss current trends in tillage equipment. The afternoon will be filled with equipment demonstrations that will feature high speed tillage, vertical tillage, and strip tillage. In addition, there will also be demonstrations related to cover crop seeding systems.

Quality Assurance Training (QA) is required by the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) for all livestock producers. This includes youth livestock exhibitors. This requirement must be met no more than 45 days prior to the opening day of our fair. For our Henry County livestock project exhibitors the official date is June 25th to meet ODA’s requirements. If you are exhibiting at the Ohio State Fair, please be aware, you must complete QA 45 days prior to exhibit as well so be sure to review show dates for Ohio State Fair.

Henry County 4-H volunteers rocked the 2020 4-H program with their perseverance and resiliency. They were flexible and embraced the methods by which they could meet with 4-H'ers, assist with projects and complete educational tours. 2021 is going to look a lot different than 2020. We have had and continue to have time to prepare Plans A & B for various 4-H activities, that are depedent on the status of the COVID pandemic at any given time.

The Henry County Junior Fair Livestock Sale Committee would like to thank all of the supporters of the 2020 market project exhibitors. These supporters contributed as individuals or businesses and/or part of the newly formed Buyer's Club. The "sale" came in the form of add-on contributions to the exhibitors, and for some, purchasing custom processed animals. The total amount generated was $198,453.00 for the exhibitors. Thanks to the Buyer's Club, the $10.00 sale fee was paid for each of the exhibitors.

Ohio 4-H is excited to offer virtual STEM-focused programming during this year’s online Farm Science Review. Plan to join us on September 22, 23, and 24 to take virtual tours and field trips, learn about watershed and stream health, explore careers in agriculture, and more. 2020 Henry County Junior Fair livestock are completed. Thanks to all who watched the livestreams (despite some of the glitches), supported the youth through their project work and beyond. Thanks to the Henry County Senior Fair Board for helping make the 2020 fair possible as well!
