Although Henry County 4-H Camp 2019 is nine months away, we are starting to prepare for it now! Youth who are 14 years of age as of January 1st, 2019 AND a Freshmen in high school are eligible to apply to be camp counselor at this time. Before applying, please read the 2019 Camp Counselor Application Packet in its entirety- there are some new items that all teens should be aware of that may help them decide whether or not to apply. In addition to those items, please remember that camp counseling has expected time committments that need to be a priority for our teens as they will learn to not only lead younger youth in activities, but also take on the responsibility of the younger members who are camping for five days and four nights at our camp program. Counselors must complete 24 hours of training with no make up opportunities available. The packet contains not only the "job description" for the position of camp counselor, it also outlines the responsibillties of the counselor, the tentative camp counselor schedule of meetings/trainings, and contains the HC Camp Counselor Code of Conduct that must be signed and returned along with two reference forms (*see packet for details on references). So that applicants can type in their information requested on the application form, this form is separate as is the Standard of Behavior Form.
