Quality Assurance Training (QA) is required by the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) for all livestock producers. This includes youth livestock exhibitors. This requirement must be met no more than 45 days prior to the opening day of our fair. For our Henry County livestock project exhibitors the official date is June 25th to meet ODA’s requirements. If you are exhibiting at the Ohio State Fair, please be aware, you must complete QA 45 days prior to exhibit as well so be sure to review show dates for Ohio State Fair.
There are several options in 2021 for our youth to complete this ODA requirement:
- Youth, age 15 as of January 1, may choose the Quality Assurance test out option. Passing this test, administered by appointment, with at least a 76% will enable you to be certified your 4-H and/or FFA career. If you do not pass this test, you must wait until the following year to retest.
- Participate in a ZOOM or a FACE-TO-FACE Quality Assurance education session that fits your schedule. There are 11 options from which to choose.
